| (Isa 60:1-8 NKJV) As far as we have the knowledge of God in us, and the favour of God towards us, our light is come. |
![]() Terminal001.jpg The only way to get to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty is by ferry. The ferry station in Liberty Park is in a train station that is no longer in use. This had been a very busy place as commuters from New Jersey would come to the station on their way to their jobs in NYC. Eventually the station was closed when other forms of transportation became preferred. No longer would the sound of train whistles be heard in the park.
![]() NYSkylineFromTerminal.jpg The park is across the river from New York. Our visit was August 25, 2001 so the skyline looks different than it does now after September 11, 2001. It is possible to see the Empire State Building in the distance to the left of the picture.
![]() FromPark.jpg Looking south, our destinations can be seen; Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
![]() LeavingPark.jpg We waited in line with the many others who had come that day to see the monument to our freedom.

![]() MaryAtEllis.jpg Ellis Island served as the port of entry for many of the imigrants coming to the east coast. It now serves as a national monument to those days. The people squinting are our daughter and her family. If you want to find out more about our family, check out the family link on the home page.
![]() EllisFromBoat.jpg Imagine coming up the Hudson, seeing the Statue then, as the boat clears it, seeing Ellis Island. Many of these people were coming to this country to escape poor conditions in their homeland. See their destination must have brought them more excitement than they had ever seen in their life.
![]() Ellis002.jpg Here are a couple pictures of the main building.
